All proceeds will go 100% to Backpack Buddies.

This fundraiser is being held to eliminate hunger in children and families locally. Backpack Buddies has been established since 2019 and currently will serve 5 West Volusia schools with over 600 kids and feed families from all over Volusia County with providing emergency food, toiletries, pet food, baby supplies, Christmas gifts and much more.

“We see the need is growing due to rising food and gas prices” stated Backpack Buddies president Kelli Marks. “If we can get Volusia County residents behind us, we could feed more kids and underserved communities with their attendance at this event. It’s $100 per ticket, which could potentially feed A child on the weekends that may not have any food at home. To purchase tickets or make a donation go to www.BackpackBuddiesoc.org.

We are extremely grateful for our partnerships with so many of our community members and businesses who have stepped up to supply critical resources for those most in need in our community. For many, food insecurity just seems to get worse. Backpack Buddies has taken this challenge to feed our underserved and will continue to add at least one school, per school year till we can cover the West Volusia schools who are in an underserved community.
Backpack Buddies held its last food giveaway in Orange City in June, distributing over 20,000 pounds of food to over 500 families. Their next food giveaway is November 18, 2022, right before the Thanksgiving holiday.

All reporters are invited to be a guest at this event free of charge. Just show your Press badge or check in when you arrive with the registration desk. Hope to see you there! This will be an epic night!

Backpack Buddies was founded in September of 2019 by Kelli Marks, who also serves as a Vice Mayor for Orange City.
