Backpack Buddies has been established since 2019 and currently will serve 5 West Volusia schools with over 600 kids and feed families from all over Volusia County with providing emergency food, toiletries, pet food, baby supplies, Christmas gifts and much more.

“We see the need is growing due to rising food and gas prices” stated Backpack Buddies president Kelli Marks. “If we can get Volusia County residents behind us, we could feed more kids and underserved communities with their attendance at this event. It’s $100 per ticket, which could potentially feed A child on the weekends that may not have any food at home. To purchase tickets or make a donation go to

We are extremely grateful for our partnerships with so many of our community members and businesses who have stepped up to supply critical resources for those most in need in our community. For many, food insecurity just seems to get worse. Backpack Buddies has taken this challenge to feed our underserved and will continue to add at least one school, per school year till we can cover the West Volusia schools who are in an underserved community.
